InstantHookups Review: How Big Is Your Chance Of A Hookup?

InstantHookups is one of the many websites in the adult dating niche that offer singles and couples a chance to arrange hookups and other non-committal forms of relationship. Even the name of the service is enough to tell you what the website is all about, and the design of the homepage is also very suggestive.

You can’t help but notice the very impressive stats claiming that the site has a nearly 10 to 1 women to men ratio. If you scroll down the bottom of the Instant Hookups homepage, you will discover even more impressive stats: for example, the site claims that 85% of its members have been able to find a hookup partner using the messaging system.

However, it’s also worth noting that Instant Hookups is part of the Dating Network, which includes several adult dating sites that don’t have the strongest reputation. The site we are reviewing today has also been involved in its share of controversy: during our preparation for this review, we came across numerous other Instant Hookups reviews mentioning various problems with the service, including Instant Hookups scam. How it works

Without registration, you cannot really do anything other than read the information on the homepage. Before creating an account, Instant Hookups requires you to answer 6 questions about your dating preferences and reasons for coming to the website. After that, you will need to only provide your email and nickname. We found it somewhat suspicious that the service does not even need to know your age.

Once you create your account, you will be instantly taken to the membership page, where you will be encouraged to purchase a paid membership. We will talk about the InstantHookups membership policies later in this review, but you are able to skip this step.

Next, you will be taken to the members page, where you will be able to explore various categories of InstantHookups members. These include your local matches, hottest members, new members, and members who are currently available for a video broadcast. From this page, you can also access your profile and some other activities, but most of them are only available on a paid basis.

Instant Hookups is so aggressive in its attempts to make you pay for the services that you cannot even view individual member profiles without a paid membership. We didn’t think it was a good move for InstantHookups, as most other sites restrict messaging and other features for non-paying members while still allowing them to view other members’ profiles.

Who can you find there?

InstantHookups claims it’s a top destination for everyone looking for no-strings-attached meetings. When we researched the members of the site for our Instant Hookups review, we found that not many of them mention hookups as their goals for joining the website and instead talk about dating.

In general, we found that InstantHookups does have a large number of members, but it is likely nowhere near the 27 million members claimed by the service. However, you should always remember that there is a big chance that some of the members you encounter on the website may turn out to be fake. You should always use your best judgement and take all claims from InstantHookups and its members with a grain of salt.

Prices

The membership buying page is one of the first things you see after you sign up for InstantHookups, and the site’s attempts to make you pay for the membership get even more aggressive from here. 

However, Instant Hookups does not tell you that this is a place where you will be charged for the membership. Instead, it claims that you need to enter your credit card details in order for the website to verify your age. 

Still, if you look at the fine print below, you will find that not only will you be charged once the free 1-day trial period is over, but you will also automatically be charged for access to another service that you didn’t even sign up for. All in all, you will pay $49.95 + $1.95 + $39.95 every month if you are not careful enough and don’t remember to cancel the subscription.

Safety

In our opinion, the problem with hidden subscription and charges we discussed in the previous chapter of our InstantHookups review is already a pretty big safety concern. However, that is not the only thing that is wrong with the service. In fact, the question “Is Instant Hookups legit?” is one of the most commonly asked questions from the fans of online dating.

While browsing the website, we found many profiles that don’t look legit at all. They are barely filled in and contain just one generic-looking photo. As soon as we created our account, we also started getting lots of messages from good-looking women even though our profile was nearly empty.

We are well familiar with this behavior from other unreputable adult dating sites and think this is a clear sign of a scam. As you would find out from many other InstantHookups reviews, this is done in order to make it look like your chance of a hookup is just around the corner and convince you to pay for the membership, but in reality, you will probably end up spending money and not finding a single hookup partner.
